People - Because It's the Team that Makes Us Different
Having spent
nearly 30 years dealing with Java beans, Sao Café
management team has a comprehensive experience in all areas of the
coffee business. Meet the top people here, and find
out for yourself that they are the sort of people you would trust
enough to buy a used car from.
Giorgio
Trombetta, President
Being born into a family of coffee roasters, Giorgio Trombetta has
spent almost his entire career in the coffee business. He took over
a family sized company from his father and turned it into a multi
million business with a strong market position in Rome and central
Italy. Mr. Trombetta has served as Sao Café President since
1971 and has no retirement plans for the near future.
Antonio
Lorusso, Vice President
Antonio Lorusso is a thirty-year veteran of the coffee business
who divides his time between his duties as Sao Café chief
financial officer and as an active and influential politician. A
member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, Mr. Lorusso joined the
permanent commission on industrial activities in July 1988.
Guglielmo
Papaleo, Vice President
Guglielmo Papaleo began his adventure as an entrepreneur in 1945
when he managed to set up a roasting coffee business in his hometown.
The company was so successful that in 1997 Papaleo was awarded a
prestigious acknowledgment by the Italian President Oscar L. Scalfaro,
who made him a Cavaliere del Lavoro. Every other year Mr. Papaleo
organizes an international roaster meeting in Copanello, a well-known
resort in the southmost part of the Italian peninsula.
Marco
Pellini, Vice President
Prior to joining Sao Café in 1971, Marco Pellini was involved
for several years in the management of Pellini Spa, a roasting business
located in the dynamic area of northeastern Italy. Mr. Pellini has
a degree in business administration and over twenty years of experience
in the coffee industry. Marco Pellini is responsible for all internal
operations and product marketing.
